The Andean Condor as a National Symbol

    As the Bald Eagle in the United States the Andean Condor is a National Symbol in many South American States. Unfortunately this seems to be not a widely known fact. Heraldics are not my strength - I know that the Condor is the National Symbol of Colombia, Bolivia, Ecuador and Chile.

    According to the prophecy of the last leader of the aztecs, Cuauhtémoc, which is well-known in certain esoteric circles, the Andean Condor can be seen as a symbol for the Indigenas in South America, and the Bald Eagle as a symbol for the Natives of North America.
